Professional Experience

Ms. Mwende Musunga is the Group CEO of the Lancet Group of Laboratories East Africa, having been appointed to the role in June 2021.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Musunga had been the CEO of Laborex Kenya Limited, a role she held for 4 years. Prior to that, she had served in various managerial positions at Laborex including as a Deputy CEO for 2 years, Sales and Marketing Director for over 3 years, and Sales and Marketing Manager for over 3 years.

Before her role at Laborex, Ms. Mwende worked at Novartis, a global healthcare company, as a Sales Manager for East and Central Africa.

Ms. Mwende has a BSc degree in Biochemistry from Kenyatta University and is currently undertaking an MBA from the Strathmore Business School.
