Special Projects Manager
Shillah has a first-class BSc (Hons) degree in Biochemistry from Universiti Putra Malaysia and an MSc. in Tropical and Infectious Diseases from the University of Nairobi. She is also currently a Commonwealth Scholar pursuing her second MSc. in Epidemiology, via Distance Learning at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Shillah has been working as an Infectious Diseases Research Scientist for 6 years. She has previously been employed by the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency and the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology. She also had a brief, part-time stint with the Immunizations, Vaccines and Biologicals Department of the WHO as a systematic literature reviewer.
The scope of her skills and previous work experience spans across research project conceptualization, proposal development, study design, implementation and coordination; research ethics, community engagement, laboratory processes and team leading; in projects investigating various aspects of the regionally prevalent infectious diseases. Shillah is passionate about research and its potential application to impact policy and practice.Return to directory
